Under Construction
“Will I ever be able to do this?”
Every time you think about doing something for your new coaching business, an overwhelming sense of not knowing where to begin stops you from beginning anywhere at all.
Not only that, but although a part of you knows you can make a difference and are SO incredibly excited at the idea of becoming a coach and finally making money doing what you love, you’re also incredibly nervous about the idea of ‘putting yourself out there’ enough to create clients and that even if you were to get hired, an intense fear that you might just F it all up for your client, still hangs over your conscience.
I hear you, lovely.
You:
Are a new coach or you trained a while ago, but are finally ready to make coaching your full-time gig.
Want to be a coach so you can find fulfilment by making a difference in the lives of others, whilst also having the income and flexibility to travel.
Want your business to be a part of what catalyzes your personal growth so you can step more and more into your authentic self. In fact, you know it’s necessary.
Want step by step mentorship but also know that mindset style coaching (to help get you out of your own way) will make a huge difference. You know it takes both!
Yet, you’re:
Not sure where to begin creating clients.
Afraid that you’ll have to be more confident or extroverted than you currently are.
Afraid that you’ll never be able to make this coaching business happen for yourself.
Still feeling a bit of an imposter when it comes to your ability to help clients. But afraid that if you don’t change this soon, it’ll mean you’ll never get started.
Hi! I’m Rachael. Back in 2014, my confidence was as shaky as the worst of the turbulence I experienced on my numerous trips to NYC, from the UK, during my initial coach training year.
Eeek!
My commitment, however, to creating this business was a totally different story.
Confidence felt like my biggest challenge on that journey. It had never been my strong suit (hands up all those dubbed shyest person in school). And when it comes to going after what you really really want, that lack of confidence you’ve always experienced, suddenly notches itself up a whole new level.
Seat belt signs on. There may be turbulence up ahead.
My plan for how to create a steady flow of clients was just as unsettled too. In fact, that plane had little to no direction.
Where and how are we getting to where we’re headed again?
The question,
“Will I ever truly be able to do this?”
was cooonstantly on my mind.
I spent plenty of days anxious, overwhelmed and curled up on my bed snuggling my housemate’s dog for comfort…hoping that all the time, energy and money I’d spent on becoming a coach thus far, wouldn’t go to waste.
Comparing myself to my peers, I believed I needed to be as confident and extroverted as they seemed to be.
Despite all this, I wasn’t willing to give up just yet…
Hello to 2021….!
I’ve now had a full time coaching business for the past 4 years (though been creating clients consistently for the past 6)! And I’m about to purchase my first home, all on my coaching income!!
Pinch me!
This was once such a dream.
Many of my more recent clients have been coaches who come to me wanting support on getting their own dream businesses off the ground too.
Pretty neat for a girl who often questioned whether she’d be ‘good enough’ to coach anyone at all, and create a whole business doing it. Now, I’m actually coaching coaches as well as teaching them how to get started with their own businesses.
It’s been an absolute joy.
And I love getting to viscerally re-experience the excitement when my clients sign their first 1, 3, 5, 10 coaching clients.
