4 mindset shifts to start making money doing what you love

A job you hate, at best, feels like your brain is turning into a mulchy swamp and at worst, feels like your soul is being dragged into the pits of the earth. In other words, it sucks!

I wasn’t prepared to live like that. So…I didn’t.

Four big mindset shifts to get you out of that pit too:

  1. Believe it’s possible

C’mon. I see your sceptical brains out there. It may not have happened for you yet but there must be someone you know (even if not in your close circle) who LOVES what they do AND makes money doing it. Whenever you head down sceptic lane, pull out your examples.

2. Create an abundance mindset

There are so many ways to make money out there. And even more so as technology develops. Unswathe yourself from that scarcity mindset to see just what’s available to you in this abundant world.

Examples of a scarcity mentality include:

“Do you know how hard it is to get a job these days, let alone start a new career?”

“It’s difficult to make money doing what you love or doing xyz.”

“Money is hard to come by.”

Examples of an abundance mentality include:

“People are starting new careers every day.”

“Money comes to those who genuinely love what they do and who provide a tonne of value doing it.”

“Money is literally everywhere. Just look!”

3. Be willing to get messy

You either fall into 1 of 2 camps.

Camp 1: You don’t know how you want to make a living yet.

Camp 2: You do know what you want, you’re just afraid to do it.

Whichever camp you’re in, go get messy and take some action.

Do things you’ve never done before.

Do that thing that scares you.

Try a new job or volunteer in a field you’re curious about.

Camp 1: You’ll either learn what you want to do.

OR

Camp 2: You’ll learn how you’re going to do it.

Sitting on the sidelines is doing nothing for you.

4. You’re worth it

A job doesn’t have to be hard or hated. That’s such oldie moldy thinking. We spend a major part of our lives working. You’re totally worth doing something you love that contributes to the world and makes you money.
